The Certification and Accreditation Administration of China (CAAC) initiated a research on China's certification and accreditation development strategy, intending to analyze the status quo of how certification and accreditation results were accepted, and find out factors affecting the acceptance of certification and accreditation results. They prepared to use the research for support in formulating a certification and accreditation strategy as well as internationalization strategy. CAAC wanted to analyze the applicability of the current certification standards and whether standards develop smoothly, in order to support the setting of a standardization strategy.
ACMR interviewed 500 large enterprises, 2,000 small and medium size enterprises, 100 industrial associations and 50 quality supervision, inspection and quarantine departments. With complete and accurate data, it gained knowledge of the current situation and reasons of standard adoption in Chinese enterprises, the unreasonable parts of the current standardization system, and the losses it brings to enterprises in the competition. These provided a basis for re-formulation of the standardization system and strategy.
ACMR clearly described the current situation on how the government, industrial associations, enterprises and individual consumers adopt and trust the certification and accreditation results, and the factors affecting their acceptance. This has provided a solid basis for the Certification and Accreditation Administration of China to work out measures to improve the acceptance.
